Installs in under a minute with the included software. Very sensitive receiver (uses the Sirf III chipset). Made by the same company as the popular BU-353 (also a Sirf III receiver). Works better than many bundled (non-Sirf) GPS units. The hardware is compatible with almost any mapping software. Satellite reception has been fast even in some indoor areas. Tried running GPS info program downloaded from globalsat. It indicated the GPS was having trouble obtaining GPS fix. One time it was able to get a fix and worked for a short while. It has since been unable to obtain GPS fix inside, outside, in full unobstructed sky view...anywhere.I am so disappointed in this product, I have purchased another GPS - made by a company other than Globalsat. |
